Greg Braun is a professional actor and has previously taught for Susan Batson at her acting studio for more than fifteen years in New York and Los Angeles combined. He received special mention in Ms. Batson’s seminal acting book, “TRUTH”. As an actor in New York he has also studied with the likes of Sandy Dennis, Viveca Lindfors and the great Joe Paradise. His work with Ms. Batson extends back to 1993 in NYC where he performed in several theatrical productions produced at The Actors Studio under her direction. He credits this period as being the education in the craft of acting he always dreamt of. Greg started teaching acting at Ms. Batson’s studio in 1998 and moved to LA in 2002, teaching in LA from 2002 – 2009. Greg co-founded New Collective LA in 2009 along with Matthew Word with the mission of creating a nurturing and empowering conservatory style acting studio in Los Angeles. His expertise includes a broad knowledge of on camera, theater, building a character and script analysis. Greg teaches all of the core classes at the New Collective. In addition to teaching group classes for professional actors, he has coached many luminary actors privately as well as on the set. Greg’s on camera coaching helps actors find truth and intimacy in their work yielding positive results in auditions and on the set.

Hi. My name is Lyena Yonekura. I am very interested in Greg Braun’s class. I live in Tokyo and will be going to LA next week 11/12-18th. Would it possible to audit one of his classes during that time? I am thinking of going back to LA in the near future and have heard great things about Greg Braun from my friend Roberta Wallach.
Please advise as to what I should do if auditing a class is possible.
I would greatly appreciate your help.
Hi Lyena,
Thank you for your message, and I’m happy that Roberta recommended us to you – please send her my love! Of course you can audit a class while you’re in town – I definitely recommend coming to “The Actor’s Gym” if that fits into your schedule. It’s an excellent group class experience and you can participate. It meets every Wednesday at 11AM and Friday at 12 Noon. No need to make an appointment, you can just show up. Let me know if you have any questions – otherwise, I look forward to meeting you very soon!
Sincerely,
Greg Braun
Greg will teach an approach toward character development that legendary actors follow. There are many acting teachers who embellish their resumes. Greg does not. You can also make demo tapes you can plug into a website. These tapes you can use to show people what you can do.
